On Success
"What is success"
To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition; to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived; that is to have succeeded.
Ralph Waldo Emerson
This quote seemed like a perfect way to start off the beginning of the work week. We strive for success in many different ways. Each unique to each of us, but the question is do you strive for success or do you strive for success towards happiness? There are a lot of people in this world who strive for success every day, every hour and even every minute, but they do not know true happiness. I have seen this on a first hand basis and it is sad to see. I am still learning how to strive for success through happiness. It is not an easy journey to be on. You have to learn to be comfortable with one of the most uncomfortable things you face every day of your life and that thing is yourself. You need to face all your ups and down. All your faults. All your positives and negatives. All your relationships. You have to face everything and ask yourself hard questions. Once you do though, the quote above will hold a deeper and greater meaning for you.
Thanks and have a great day
