Dealing with Constant Change
Change is not only inevitable but also required. Life is full of constant change and we must be willing to listen to those changes whether they are within the mind, body or soul. Change can be difficult at times especially when we get so used to a certain way of doing things. Sometimes as our goals change our way of doing things has to change as well and that is where the real work begins. It is great to have the idea of new goals and new challenges, but are you willing to not just do what you are used to doing? When goals and challenges change, your way of achieving those goals must evolve and must take on new habits and adapt. For myself change has had to come quickly. I have had to rethink my whole entire way I train to get ready for the
"4x4x48 Challenge". When you have been doing something for so long and your body and mind are so used to it, making changes can be a challenge. But if you have a true purpose that follows your true north and aligns with your values, those changes you make can set you onto a new path that can lead you to even greater things in life. I have had to change my mindset from strength building to muscle endurance. Which means higher reps, higher intensity and lower max strength work. This is not an easy transition, but I know it is what I need to do to reach my goals and if I am going to be true to this idea change and really listen to my mind, body and soul, they al;l have been telling me that this is long over do. At soon to be age 55 my body has been telling me that change is needed. It doesn't mean to slow down, hell no it doesn't mean that. What it means though is listen, open up to the change. Keep pushing hard everyday because that's what drives you, but let's start finding better ways to reach your goals and even bigger challenges.
As always your thoughts and comments are always welcome.
