Pain and Suffering
One of the things I love the most and also fear the most about taking on hard physical challenges, is in the midst of these challenges you get to meet yourself. When I say meet yourself, you get to meet the true you. A hard physical challenge forces you to confront all the good, the bad, the great, the awful, the fearful, the love, the hate, the positive, and the negative that resides in you. When we get to this place in our heart, mind and soul the true battle begins. This is the time when the negatives in our lives become strong. This is when the negatives want to tell you what you are doing is dumb, that you are not good enough to finish what you started. This is the time when all your insecurities want to over take and become the judge, jury and trial that makes you stop and give up. But if you look deeper you find the resiliency, the self reliance, the determination and the positive force that you have been building within yourself to get you to this point. When you find yourself in this place and you have to face yourself and who you are and what you are made of, which part of you is going to win and come out on top. Remember the pain and suffering you are going through is temporary, but the pain of regret from quitting will last a lifetime as the old adage says. So don't quit. Work your ass off until you finish or until you have nothing left to give. Leave everything out there and walk away proud.
As always your thoughts and comments are welcome.
